Zdö Skrō Vrët (/zdo˞/ /skroː/ [sophisticated; intricate] [storm; hurricane]) is a temperate Large Town located in the Zbëkfenfyë Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Zdö Skrō Vrët is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Zdö Skrō Vrët was founded by Undie Ezaenzo, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Zdö Skrō Vrët has a yearly average temperature of 8°C (46°F), with its average temperature during the summer being an icy 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold -10°C (14°F). Zdö Skrō Vrët receives an average of 159 cm/y (62 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Zdö Skrō Vrët covers an area of nearly 6 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3746 m (12290 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Zdö Skrō Vrët was founded durring the late 16th century in winter of the year 1489, by Undie Ezaenzo. The establishment of Zdö Skrō Vrët was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Undie Ezaenzo struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Zdö Skrō Vrët as a prison colony.

Zdö Skrō Vrët was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 16th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Zdö Skrō Vrët is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Zdö Skrō Vrët is is constructed arround a series of narrow flagstone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Zdö Skrō Vrët's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The town's boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the towns defences.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Zdö Skrō Vrët, you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all preforming the same rituals to bless and anoint building,s streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holysymbols is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This town certainly loves its god.

Civic Infrastructure

Zdö Skrō Vrët has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Zdö Skrō Vrët. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Zdö Skrō Vrët's parks.

Zdö Skrō Vrët has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Zdö Skrō Vrët.

Zdö Skrō Vrët's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is characterized by order, symmetry, formal design, grandiosity, and elaborate ornamentation. Architectural characteristics include balustrades, balconies, columns, cornices, pilasters, and triangular pediments. Stone exteriors are massive and grandiose in their symmetry; interiors are typically polished and lavishly decorated with sculptures, swags, medallions, flowers, and shields. Interiors will often have a grand stairway and opulent ballroom..

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Zdö Skrō Vrët was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Zdö Skrō Vrët lost 101 people, 203 livestock, and 36 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 229, when members of Zdö Skrō Vrët's militia enacted an operation to defend a particular fortification from enemy attack. The operation was complicated by the army's activities draw the wrath of formerly neutral parties. The conflict ended with needing to break through the enemy's lines, which ended in victory for Zdö Skrō Vrët's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Zdö Skrō Vrët's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
